The Brewers jumped on Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Dodgers early on Monday night, and a 7-4 Game 2 win gives Milwaukee a 2-0 lead in the NLCS. Teams have historically gone just 8-51 when trailing 2-0 in the League Championship Series. The series now shifts to Los Angeles on Wednesday for Game 3, but Milwaukee gets a night off first.
In the late game, the Guardians waited out Rays starter Drew Rasmussen and then went after the Tampa Bay bullpen in a 7-3 victory in Game 1 of the ALCS.
How the teams reached the Championship Series
The Dodgers eliminated the Braves, the Brewers beat the Padres, the Rays knocked out the Yankees, and the Guardians escaped the White Sox. The Astros, Red Sox, Cubs and Phillies were already eliminated in the best-of-three Wild Card Series.
