NEW INITATIVES
Series 8:08 is excited to introduce our new Resident Outside Eye (ROE) for all our CPW choreographers. This is an opportunity for you/choreographer to receive a more in-depth written response from an established dance artist to your works-in-progress.
Our ROE for the 2009/10 year are Susan Cash, Sylvie Bouchard and Heidi Strauss.
This pilot project has been created to deepen the experience gained from this CPW series for choreographers (and their dancers). In each CPW programme, a Resident Outside Eye (ROE) (an established and/or elder dance artist from our community) will be present to the CPW choreographers. The ROE is present to offer other insights to the choreographer's (your) craft. This additional layer will also give artists (paid) time (no cost to the choreographers) to seek advice on their presented works-in-progress. There will be personal one-on-one time with the Resident Outside Eye (ROE) for each choreographer both before and after each CPW.
How this works:
- There will be one ROE per CPW.
- ROE attends your tech run and the CPW evening.
- ROE will receive your description of works-in-progress to be presented at CPW from our CPW Manager, Tanya Crowder
- During your tech, you, the artist and the ROE will have a brief chat about what your goals or choreographic objectives; e.g what do you want to get out of showing your work in progress at the CPW?
- ROE will give you a more comprehensive written feedback.
- If additional questions arise, the ROE would be made available for a short telephone conversation.
- This opportunity is of no charge to the participating choreographer.
